Hey um guys I just figured out I have a fear of escalates            . It might seem funny or a stupid fear but I swear I just see them and I freeze completely. When I go to the

mall and see people doing it with ease and am like why can't I do that. I walk to one and when I see it I freeze but thinking about it is it a stupid fear though?

You can say your deepest fear or greatest fear.....

People fear all sorts of things Kitty, just because yours might be less common it doesn't make it any less legitimate.

I've been 'reading' (audiobook) a self-help guide to overcoming anxiety called DARE. It's wonderful, but one of the core concepts is that anxiety is caused by something triggering a false fight-or-flight scenario in your mind. If this is true, it would explain why you freeze up - like a deer in the headlights so to speak. It doesn't matter what it is really that triggers it, its just as terrible for you as it is for someone with a more common fear/anxiety-trigger like creepy-crawleys or crowds.

My deepest physical fear is drowning. I had a near-death experience with water as a kid and its terrified me since. I still swim but I'm very contious of myself the entire time.

My deepest emotional fear is probably one of the most common - spending my life alone. Which is odd, because I quite enjoy time to myself and even living by myself for the most part - but the idea of going unloved despite my efforts to be a great person is a deep rooted fear.

Great topic, hope it helps people :)

I don't have any fears, but I am fully cognizant of the ever-present danger that spiders represent to the whole planet. Alien scum must die in a fire.

Mines weird..

I'm afraid that everything is just an illusion and I'm really all alone :(

Keeping myself occupied helps though

My greatest fear is beinin a healthy, loving relationship. Due to my past the simple act of someone saying they love me triggers my fight or flight response.

My greatest fear is.... Well everything.. but death is probably the number one which is a little silly bc I will be dead, but I suppose my upbringing is to blame

Heights make me shake; snakes make me scream.

I have a bunch of fears, but the worst are:

- Spiders (omg they terrify me! More than 4 legs are just not natural!)

- Puppets that look like people (I had a bad experience as a kid and now they scare me so bad I have nightmares)

- Wind (I've been in 3 tornadoes so now high winds scare me)

- Drunk people (bad experience with an ex)

- Night-time (this is the weirdest. I'm not scared of the dark, just nighttime. Every night, around 1am, I start getting scared and feeling like something's out there)

- Shouting/ loud noises (I have strong hearing so everything is louder for me)

I fear being unaware of the world around me while people keep secrets and make decisions for me without consent. I fear being left in the dark when something important is going on. I hate being oblivious.

I also am afraid of escalators, so you're not alone. However, by biggest fear is probably aquariums. The big ones that take up whole buildings, not little household ones. I just can't bring myself to go inside...
