How do you decorate a pacifier?

I've looked everywhere but most tutorials show customized pacifiers for decor not for actual use. What kind of glue and/or clear coat would be safe for constant pacifier use and sanitizing by means of boiling?

You could just use the self adhesive gems which are super easy

I have experience doing this for my pacifier. Decorating your own pacifier is the best way to make it look exactly how you want it to and to make it more you.

  1.  I sanitized it completely.
  2.  I painted it with acrylic paint. You don't have to be limited to just acrylic paint, you can also use glitter, temporary tattoos, and even stickers.
  3. You need seal the whole thing. I used clear nail polish and it worked just fine.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask me. :D Good Luck ;)

Yeah I was thinking of gems but I'm afraid of falling asleep with it and the gems going in my nose or mouth, and also I'm not sure if nail polish is okay to have on/in your mouth for long periods of time, I was thinking of a food safe adhesive but when I did research it said for brief contact with food, I'm not sure if the glue chemicals/ clear nail polish breakdown on mouth contact ☹️

I don't think nail polish breakdown in contact with your mouth ..but it tastes super yucky!!

When I decorated my pacifier, I only decorated the part facing away from my mouth and I only placed nail polish on that side as well. I agree, any form of nail polish near your mouth is a no no. Sorry if I wasn't very clear. :(

I used UV resin for my own. It’s very hard to take off so once it’s on there it’s on there. I used a blade to score the surface to make the thingies stick better and then worked in small sections. For my UV resin I use a small gel nail lamp. To get rid of any stickiness that isn’t cured, it just takes some rubbing alcohol. To my knowledge this is the safest option since this is how rhinestones are applied to drinkware to be durable and not come off.

I used super glue and flatback beads. Easy and fun. So far no problems with anything falling off.

I use E6000 when decorating away from my mouth, I feel like it should work, super glue eventually falls off my pacis.

What gems do you use? I've been trying to figure out the name of the pearly ones with the small dots around the edges.

I’ve been trying to find the name of what they’re called too I even messaged a shop on Instagram and they said “sunflower rhinestones” but they’re still very hard to find!

Check these sellers, but they only come in one size and I don’t know where to get other sizes :(

Let me know if you find out what they’re really called and where to get more sizes!

I've seen alot for sale with that "decora" "decoden" stuff on them, so I guess using that would be okay.

How do you score it with the blade?

I'm so very happy I found this post. Just ordered my first big paci. Thank you!

Sorry I didn’t get back to this sooner! You just take a box cutter or razor blade and make cuts to scratch the surface. I usually do like a cross-cross pattern.
