Meeting my long distance daddy!!!

Recommended Posts

I'm going to meet my daddy for the very first time in August!!! We've been together for almost 10 months now and live on opposite sides of the country. I'm so so excited! But also really nervous >.<

He's going to be my first everything and I'm pretty shy. Do any of you have tips to help me not be so anxious?

I'll also be there with him on our 11 month anniversary (I think we're going to celebrate our 1 year simultaneously) so I need ideas on how to make it special. Gift ideas? Date ideas??

I'm so excited! Eek!

Breathe! That's the first step. Remind yourself that you love each other and that anything that happens is showing that love. Giving yourself body and soul to someone is the best feeling especially when you love each other. I'm sure you guys love each other very much with making such a LDR work for so long!

For date ideas, I suggest doing something fun but still intimate. Maybe a picnic in a park if you have a park you could do that at. Then you guys could cuddle and look at clouds if any are out (also if it's not toooo hot. I know I can get grumpy when it's too hot) or go for dinner somewhere more quiet and then go get ice cream after if the restraunt desserts don't sound too good. going somewhere you like to go that you want to share it with him would be nice too. I know I told my daddy about a sushi place near me that I adore because it's so little and cute and he said he would go with me even though he doesn't like sushi because it's a place I like and want to share with him (and they have food besides sushi he could get).

I'm not the best at date ideas either but I hope my few suggestions help ^_^

I was in the same position two weeks ago, but my daddy was even more perfect than I thought and we had an amazing time! :) As for date ideas- we went to the county fair, Seaworld, legoland, the zoo and the arcade! We also went swimming almost every day, and went out to dinner at night! ^^

Congratulations on meeting him!! I hope it goes well! I don't have any suggestions, coz I don't have any experience with things like that, but I hope you'll let us know how it goes!

You saying he was even more perfect than you thought made me think to mention that the more I interact with my Daddy the more perfect he is. I imagine I can't be the only one who feels that way, im sure that's how it is for almost everyone in a serious relationship.

Also seeing someone for the first time in person it hits you how much this person means to you and now you get to hold them and touch them in person.

Yup this post hit home for me too. Meeting right at the start of August, been together since November.

Take things slow. Let him take the lead if you need him to. It's totally normally to be really anxious about meeting someone the first time, but I imagine that after not long at all you will start to relax as your brain begins properly associating the person you're looking at with the person you already have lots of great memories with. Then you'll just have a blast!

Super excited for you - make sure you report back :)

Breathe. The key here is breathe out longer than you breathe in. So if you breathe in 3 seconds, you could breathe out for 6 seconds.

Cuddles are a great way to build trust and connect, I'm sure he won't mind if you give him one.

Let us know how everything goes :)
