DeathMetalPrincess Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 Ok, so... I just found a video, in which Shane Dawson has found Binkie Princess' YouTube channel. She's a rather prominent DDlg YouTuber, and honestly I'm kind of offended by it. She's into abdl as well as DDlg. In any case, watching Shane review her channel was really kind of hard. I respect him, and I used to watch his videos a lot more than I do now (I still go back to his channel from time to time). The video he put out is just.. I don't know. I don't know how to describe it. I don't know how to talk about it. I feel almost insulted watching it. It's titled "The Weird Side of YouTube - Adult Babies", and it really feels like he's mocking us and the DDlg community at large. He does seem kind of interested in it, but I really have mixed emotions about it. It really kind of appalls me. he interviews her and stuff, but it's just.. Idk. Really, really, really mixed feelings... I linked the video below.. feel free to watch and let me know what you think. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HJmRATUzE8
daintydoll Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 I just watched this video and in my personal opinion, I did not find it offensive at all. It's actually nice to see him so interested in learning about these things to gain a better understanding. He seems genuinely interested and excited to understand where she and a lot of other people in these types of communities are coming from. He puts a comedic twist on it which is typical of almost every Youtuber but he's still respectful and open to learning about this community. This is just my personal opinion but yeah 2
leChien Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 I clicked on it earlier today feeling a little apprehensive because of the title, being a subscriber i was afraid that he was going to cross some kind of line for me. In the beginning he laughs about it and makes fun ot it but honestly I had similar feelings back when i first discovered it. It's something he's never expirienced and is pretty out of the norm so its understandable that he would find it funny or whatever. Had that been where the video stopped i would have been a little frustrated but instead he was genuinely curious and reached out to her, which i wasn't expecting. There were a couple of points in the interview where i felt like he said some stuff i wish he hadn't (like when he asked her daddy to spank her) but all in all she didn't seem uncomfortable and he didn't go too far. And he even mentioned in the end that his intent wasnt to kink shame and that he accepts her lifestyle and didn't like, look down on her or anything. I dunno, i'm not too bothered by it, if anything i'm kinda glad he reached out and everything.
baby__boo Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 (edited) Well.. not only does he think its weird but his also kinda making fun of her!? Tbh i love her channel and this was kinda hard for me to watch. I feel like he doesn't need to say these things on you tube because DDlG and ABL have a bad a rep already so this is just added on to it. You can think these things but don't go on you tube and make a video about it. Edited June 21, 2017 by baby__boo
DeathMetalPrincess Posted June 21, 2017 Author Report Posted June 21, 2017 I think he tried to be respectful, but some of the things he said were really inappropriate, and he took it a bit too far. I think it's neat that he was interested in it enough to get firsthand information from Binkie Princess herself, but I still have mixed feelings about it.
Chicki Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 I'm surprised a big named youtuber who makes money off videos like this wasn't harsher considering how... open? she is, i guess. not to mention her disturbing (imo) tweets NSFW vvvv I think when you put yourself out there like that and use the words "baby" to describe your genitalia on public social media etc, you're asking for some negative attention. I'm sure she's gotten worse than that. You can't force people to be nice or cooperative either, as much as we'd like. All you can do is come off as intellectual and helpful on the topic of ddlg as you can and hope people would rather listen than troll or insult. As for him, I've even experienced worse than what he said, even though I'm hardly open on the subject. 1
Guest Maru Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 I've been watching Shane for many years, especially much the past year (in love with this conspiracy theory and creepy videos). I was so surprised when I last night was laying in my bed with my ipad, wearing my baby onesie, and saw that video on my front page. What I thought about it? I loved it. I believe that because Shane interviewed Binkie and genuinely seemed interested and understanding of the subject, others will accept it too. It may be ever so slightly less taboo because Shane dared to get into it. And I'm not at all offended, I found it really fun to watch. 1
Guest Bunnyblossom Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 (edited) I don't take it personally. It's his job to joke and mock anything he can, really. But he seems respectful, and I don't really care for his videos and content. But he bothered to find out from her what it's about. And I'm relieved that she was great about it and I don't think she embarrassed the community. YouTube personalities don't always represent the people they are off camera. But either way it doesn't really matter. Not to dismiss your feelings or pov. Edited June 21, 2017 by MilkPop
xBabydollx Posted June 21, 2017 Report Posted June 21, 2017 I love shane and watch him all the time for years, and Binkie I recently watch in the last few months. So before watching i already had an undedstanding of their personalities. That said, Shane is a very funny/dark sense of humor peperson. He will say things others wouldn't dare. It is why ppl love him. So there was a few moments when I was like eeeek i wish he didn't say that lol, but I know it doesn't come from a mean or cruel place. Im glad he had his genuine and real reaction to an AB, then consciously reached out to her to understand more. Like calling the guy Daddy or spank comment...he dont know no better lol. He don't know this life, but he was interested in trying and that's cool to see. Overall I lovd it. Btw, he considers his channel the weird side of youtube as well, so ppl should try not to take much offense. In the beginning most of us found this lifestyle strange and hard to understand, if ppl be honest. I couldn't possibly understand why anyone would wear a diaper or call someone Daddy, sounded like pedophillia to me, but after talking to ppl i understood it better. Everyone starts somewhere abd where they start wont determine where they end (i could honestly picture shane and his bf in the bdsm lifestyle, they got qualities ya know? Lol). Either way the video brings awareness which can be good.
HelloCuddle Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 i am a fan of shane and even have my notifications on for when he puts out new videos- let's just say when i clicked on his new video to watch i was a little heartbroken. because even though i am not into ABDL, i am part of the DDLG community and him putting out a video like that made me sad. ( i haven't even watched it i don't know what he says lol ) but i'm assuming it's trash talking her or something. sad.
HelloCuddle Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 in all honesty to people who don't "know" shane he is out there, weird, funny. and it's just who he is. and he makes these "weird side of youtube" videos all the time, it's his content. so don't take it personally. from someone who dearly watches his videos and is a fan, he doesn't mean HARM. by this.
Baby Neko Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 I was apprehensive when I heard about the video but pleasantly surprised when I watched it. As someone who has seen many adult baby 'reaction videos' and kink cringe compilations and even documentaries on YouTube by other outsiders (and people on just about every social media platform crying paedophilia over dd/lg), I thought Shane was actually nice about something that is considered controversial. Yes he laughed at her channel at first but he did say "don't kinkshame" and the interview was respectful.
iggyphobia Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 The title "The weird side of YouTube" is just the series name, he isn't directing it specifically at the DDLG/ABDL community. To me at first it seemed that he did find it odd and weird but once he had the interview with Binkie he actually got an understanding about what the community is about and how it works. In Shane's defense if you're not into this type of stuff or BDSM as a whole it would definitely come off as weird, it's just a matter of perspective and how much information you know about the matter! c:
LittleGirlEmilia Posted June 25, 2017 Report Posted June 25, 2017 I bet you... Shane's really into it now ahahah xD
Guest Riri'sBunny Posted June 25, 2017 Report Posted June 25, 2017 I'm justa lil worried it will draw negative attention to the DDLG community, I love shane just reading the comments.... it was alot of hate
