Hmm... I haven't read them in a long time... I knew it but never actually picked up on it when I was younger, I always took them at face value and enjoyed the story Maybe I'll read them again for a different perspective. I didn't read a whole lot of YA books actually, I had a very high reading level from a young age. I read The Godfather when I was 9... haha The horse whisperer is another book I love.

Yeah, i mean the books are pretty good. My favorite was Magicians Nephew. But they definitely have overtones. And yeahhhh... i really skipped right over YA books when i was physically a YA, and got into them as an adult, but dang they are really addicting.
Guest Panda.Princess Posted June 4, 2017 Report Posted June 4, 2017 I love The Selection series by Kiera Cass! It's about a dystopian society where girls from different castes basically compete to be the prince's new wife. Anything by Sarah Dessen! Her writing is so smooth and relaxing! If you like Vampire series books, House of Night series is great!
switchlittleloves Posted June 6, 2017 Report Posted June 6, 2017 (edited) Omg how has nobody said The Mortal Instruments yet??? There's so much content for it I love it haha Plus there's more that I just can't remember because ugh. I do like Rainbow Rowell. I read the first Harry Potter book but that was it (sorry) Oh! Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl. It's really funny and also really touching (hence the dying girl part). Anything by John Green. He is pretty much the master of soul-searchy YA novels. lillejente Posted June 11, 2017 Report Posted June 11, 2017 There are so many. Many have been named but here's some of mine: Harry Potter some of the fanfic done in Harry's World on Wattpad. If you want actual author names just ask. A few were better than Rowlings Judy Blume Anne of green gables series (read it the first time a few yrs ago.) Any book by Madeline Engels Later books in little house series Louisa Mae Alcott (she wrote much more than just Little Women) Vampire diaries Mortal instruments The spin off from that that is in the past Any Rick Riordan. He has two new series, one an additional continuation to Percy Jackson and one that is Norse Mythology Fablehaven 2
Guest ~*~Sachita~*~ Posted June 13, 2017 Report Posted June 13, 2017 Tamora Pierce has several series that I read over and over (Lioness, Protector of the Small, Realm of the Gods).
Caring King Posted June 13, 2017 Report Posted June 13, 2017 Well if you like that fantasy stuff I got a few reads that I was into years ago (and are still great)Golden Compass (and sequels)Bones of Faerie (a lesser known book but really captured me, pretty dark)Eragon seriesNightpool (the sequels hold similar dragon-pairing vs evil king premise as Eragon, but with different application)
mylittlesidewearsblack Posted June 27, 2017 Author Report Posted June 27, 2017 I never got through Eragon. The books just got progressively worse and it made me sad.
