Mother's/Father's Day in CG/l

I was wondering what your opinions were in regards to celebrating Mother's Day or even Father's Day as part of the ddlg community? I mean I wouldn't think of celebrating it per se, but this is the first time I've had a mommy on this day so idk. Should we celebrate it? If so, how? I mean, my mommy technically isn't my mother so idk how to go about it! I love her dearly regardless.

Views on this will differ but I personally feel that mothers/fathers day is meant for the women/men who had a major influence in your life and how you were raised.

 

That doesn't mean someone who birthed you but rather people who were there for you growing up. Who put in the work to make you the person you are.

 

A caregiver is a partner. They support you. Help you. Love you. But they were not there for you your whole life.

 

I dont give my Daddy presents on fathers day because he's my CG, he does get them though for the amazing dad he is to our daughter.

 

If you want to celebrate what a wonderful supportive caregiver you have just do that on a different day. Anniversary's, birthdays, or a random day that you pick just for them.

I celebrate fathers day with my daddy because he is LIKE a father to me. He takes care of me and protects me, and I think he deserves to have a special day for him. We think fathers day is perfect for that

Fathers day is always an issue for me because I actually *do* have daddy issues. So to make the day something positive instead of a negative day of feeling lile crap, I celebrate it with my daddy. I usually make him a card and buy him a small gift, sometimes something small from our furkids. It's really helps me get through the day and Daddy loves the extra love.

 

I think you should do whatever feels right for YOU (as a couple), not anyone else.
