mykryptonromance Posted February 24, 2017 Report Posted February 24, 2017 Hi! So recently I moved out and I'm now have the opportunity to buy myself pull-ups! I have some gift cards I can use so my mom won't see but I'm nervous because every time I linger near the baby section it feels like everyone is staring at me.... Any suggestions on how to go about buying little things in store without people looking at you weird?
Hersuperhero Posted February 24, 2017 Report Posted February 24, 2017 I Always tell little's that are nervous to buy diapers or pull-ups in public to think about it this way, everyone seeing you doesn't know they are for you especially if you buy the kids sizes and not adult ones for all they know you could be getting some diapers for a younger sibling or because you are babysitting. So just don't pay people any attention plus they definitely shouldn't ask you why you are getting some but if they do you can use the babysitting or younger sibling excuse. 1
Ekarion Posted February 24, 2017 Report Posted February 24, 2017 Hi ! Don't worry about what people thinking about it. I totaly understand what you feel and the many firsts times can be difficult. I was very stressed and the first time I go for buy diapers. I was so nervous that couldn't buy it and I decided to come another day. Take your time and do it when you think it's ok for you. You will see that everything is fine. At least for me, noone say something, it was like people don't care and I was very satisfied after. If you really want it, go somewhere you probably meet nobody that you know, take your energy and don't think about some strangers can think, it doesn't matter. You will not regret it after, I swear.

PapaMax Posted February 24, 2017 Report Posted February 24, 2017 When I used to buy them for my ex I'd always think up a good, plausible story for if anyone saw me or stopped me, of course I never needed it but it helped in my mind
Guest Isabelle Posted February 24, 2017 Report Posted February 24, 2017 I experience fear buying little stuff as well but my therapist reminded me (she doesn't know I'm a little just like certain things) that kids birthdays and holidays come up all throughout the year, and generally people don't give it a second glance. I often have a check out person saying "what a lucky girl at home!" and I'll say yup! Doesn't mean I have to special WHICH girl it's for, she thinks its my daughter, I know its me.
Magi Posted February 24, 2017 Report Posted February 24, 2017 I know its not the exact same, but I got buy baby wipes and binkies and bottle brushes. Nobody says anything to me. I just go and pay. If you are really nervous you can always use the self check out. 1
cuppycakes Posted February 25, 2017 Report Posted February 25, 2017 Don't stand there and look at all the people around you, just go in there with a purpose and get out No one will think it's weird as long as you look like "yes I belong here I am normal". If you look nervous like you're doing something wrong, then you might attract attention haha (though still probably not much). 1
