lilsnoopy Posted February 2, 2017 Report Posted February 2, 2017 (edited) A topic that gets mentioned a lot here is littles with anxiety/stress. I've kind of been going through a rough patch myself so though others might benefit from a general topic on how to cope. Of course the awesome self care post here: https://www.ddlgforum.com/topic/11765-taking-care-of-yourself-master-post/ is a worthwhile read. A few things I've found help me handle my stress are: -keeping busy (in a healthy way) and not focusing on the negatives too much. -surround yourself with positive people like friends or family who care about you. -Try making fun slime! It sounds weird but it's like a stress ball. You can play with it to relax. A good diy pretty pastel slime is here: -Music! I love listening to piano music, especially when I'm studying to help me focus and stay calm. -Watch a feel-good movie or show once in a while. I highly recommend a comedy. Laughing and smiling are healthy things. -REALLY, talk to people. Make sure you know you aren't alone and have support. -Cook/bake. It is usually healthier and cheaper to make food yourself. Plus yummy left overs -Craft. I'm a big fan of it. As an idea this video here explains how to make collars: -Color!! or watercolor! Chalk! Art in general is a good way to unwind and get rid of all that pesky stress. It is a form of therapy. -Play with puppies. I understand not everyone can do this but I volunteer at the local animal shelter and play with the kitties and puppies. I also know that my college one a month month bring in therapy dogs for students. -Take a break from stressful things. On a day off of work or school maybe just go for a walk or play in the park. -write. I personally don't write a journal though some people might really enjoy that. I like making lists, plans, ex. Things that I'm looking forward too. It helps me to have my thoughts on paper. Edited February 2, 2017 by lilsnoopy 3
