Baby Neko Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 My fellow Aussie littles, where do you buy dd/lg related stuff in Australia? I'm looking for irl stores (even mainstream stores that have cute stuff) or websites based in Australia because conversion rates and shipping are giving me grief. Looking for clothing, pretty collars/accessories/toys ect I already know about Onesies Downunder
Guest Bunnyblossom Posted January 30, 2017 Report Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) I sew my own dresses and other articles of clothing, so I'm not sure but I'll try to help. (Edit: I still do) I find it's just a case of looking around EVERYwhere. If you're looking for directly dd/lg related, you're in for a tough time. Because it's a super niche market. Ebay can be good for random things, just filter your search results to Australia Only if you're too impatient to wait for international shipping, or risk things being "lost" in the mail. Etsy is also really good, but can sometimes be pricey because you're paying someone to handmake the clothing. Which means materials+labour+sml profit margin. If it's something you really really really want though, it can be totally worth it. Try tags like: ddlg clothing | ddlg dress | cute ddlg | pastel dress | ddlg frill socks etc. IRL Srsly just go to a toy store for toys. Even some supermarkets have toys and stuff. e.g. LOL Dolls, 'Beanie Babies', Ooshies, plushies. Raid dollar stores kids sections for toys too. Opshops are a great source. plushies: check the tag to see if they're machine washable or surface/spot wash only. spruce them up yourself. clothing- always, always, always wash before you wear them. you can also find some really cute kids room furniture sometimes. I got a slightly broken wooden rocking horse. But I'm going to sand it someday and repaint it. Target can be good for cute clothing too. Collars- you could learn to make your own. From what I've seen on here, it's not hard. Go to a craft store like Spotlight (irl or online). K-Mart- Their plushies, toys, socks, underwear and just about everything is reasonably priced. They have a lot of cute stuff available, and online availability. Editing because my opinions have changed since posting this. Onesies Down Under re: pacies- I still think the plastic they're made out of is kinda cheap, but I think anywhere that sells adult pacies uses the same company/supplier. So it's not singularly ODU's fault. And I've bought more since that first one. I'm a lil bit of a germaphobe so I prefer infant pacies because they're made from materials that are sterilization safe. Which appeals to me greatly. And the quality is just better overall. Their onesies are perfectly fine quality (as I've also bought a few of those since first posting this). You have to be a lot more delicate with unfastening the snapcrotch than I expected though. Like, they button together TIGHT. And it takes a lot to get it open sometimes, which caused a small tear in one of mine. The other one I bought- one of the snaps popped right off, just pulling it open. So idk if there's a special method for undoing them or what. xD Anxiety About Buying IRL If you're ever nervous about buying toys, cute clothes, pacies, bottles etc IRL- just remember that people aren't necessarily going to assume that they're for YOU. Most people won't. Not unless you're dressed, y'know, in a pastel teddy bear dress LIKE I WAS ONE TIME ()OAO() But really. People will usually think it's for your own kid or one you know. Baby Neko Posted January 31, 2017 Author Report Posted January 31, 2017 I sew my own dresses and other everyday clothes, so I'm not sure but I'll try to help. I find it's just a case of looking around EVERYwhere. If you're looking for directly dd/lg related, you're in for a tough time. Because it's a super niche market. Ebay can be good for random things, just filter your search results to "within Aus". Etsy- Filter for "Aus only" (watch out for the buttholes who WAY overprice their shipping just because they can) IRL Looking for toys? Go to a toy store, sirry. Toys'R'Us, Toyworld, Target or The Reject Shop- so many places to go for colouring books, toys etc. Opshops are good too- e.g. Salvos, St Vinnies. If you get plushies I suggest cleaning them. Either gently wipe fur clean with detergent and cloth or place them in the washing machine in ref to the tag instrucitons. And always wash clothing before wear. Target can be good for cute clothing too. Collars, you should learn to make your own. From what I've seen on here, it's not hard. Go to a craft store like Spotlight and gather supplies. They also have an online store. K-Mart has cute stuff. Toys, socks, shoes, undies, hair accessories etc. I have one pacifier from Onesies Downunder- and it sucks. As in it was kinda crappy. It feels like cheap plastic, the teat is a weird shape (flatter than the photos suggested) and had this very defined, slightly sharp, line of sillicone/plastic where the seam on the teat was. Which actually felt like it was cutting my tongue. I'd heard a lot of good things about them, so was super disappointed. They're not exactly cheap. And when I contacted them about it, they were just like "Refund or get over it" basically. Which only surprised me because I genuinely thought I'd just received a faulty one. Apparently not. That's just their quality. I hope someone else can be more helpful to you lol :3 Sorry Thanks, have tried etsy and ebay but was wondering if there are any specific shops online for Australia. I'll try some of the IRL places, can't believe I didn't think of that haha That's surprising about the paci, I've never bought from there but I always hear good things too. I'll have to be wary of them
Guest Bunnyblossom Posted January 31, 2017 Report Posted January 31, 2017 Yes, same! I'd only heard good things. I think it's possibly just because they're one of the few abdl/LG speciality stores. They're good because there's not much to compare them to. However I'm sure their onesies and stuff are fine. Not sure how you could go wrong with those.
