Cherry41 Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 I apologize if this is a silly question, but I have been wondering: Are there any signs a person could display to let others know they are into BDSM and/or DDlg? I am asking about things that would be known to members of the community but not picked up by people who were not into it. I have seen the one BDSM symbol..a triskalon...I believe it's called. But are there more? And any specifically DDlg?
MrBonesWildRide Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 DD/lg's symbol is: http://img-cache.cdn.gaiaonline.com/d400a0adc217bc2115d837a3020ac0c7/http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/yy296/Leopardchild/LittlesLogo2.gif I'm not sure where it originated but it's been used for years. This is more of a flag though Much like how Leather Pride is http://www.capitolpride.org/images/symbols/leather-pride-flag.png What BDSM's symbol she's talking about is this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/8/80/BDSM_logo.svg/640px-BDSM_logo.svg.png To my knowledge, I don't know of any symbology that relates specifically to DDLG and you'd be hard pressed to find people who actually use the triskelion in public spaces. Why? "Various forms of triskele have had many uses and many meanings in many cultures; its BDSM usage derives from the Ring of O in the classic book Story of O." 1
Cherry41 Posted April 19, 2015 Author Report Posted April 19, 2015 Thanks guys! Is the DDlg symbol just the heart with the strip through it, or is the circle with the line a part of it too?
CuddleMonster89 Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 DD/lg's symbol is: http://img-cache.cdn.gaiaonline.com/d400a0adc217bc2115d837a3020ac0c7/http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/yy296/Leopardchild/LittlesLogo2.gif I'm not sure where it originated but it's been used for years. This is the Littles and Baby Pride Symbol from the ageplay community and has been around since 2002. I believe it was originally created by The Ghidrah ( http://theghidrah.com/). The symbol is used on http://www.biglittlepodcast.com/ and http://www.littlesmunch.com/ which are projects by The Ghidrah. A graphic of just the symbol is here: http://i.imgur.com/Qplf56f.gif When I see this symbol I think of littles, age regression, and age roleplay, not DD/lg, which I think of as a variation of a D/s or M/s relationship dynamic in which the s-type often though not always identifies as a little and which may or may not incorporate age regression or age roleplay. Though that's just my opinion. 2
Daddas-angelbaby Posted June 29, 2015 Report Posted June 29, 2015 CuddleMonster89 is correct in that the above symbol is for little/baby pride and does not represent the DD/lg community as a whole. This is the DD/lg Pride Flag... Symbolism can be found here... http://angel-baby-antics.tumblr.com/post/122576842879/dd-lg-pride-flag-as-a-community-we-have-a-variety
HerrB Posted October 1, 2015 Report Posted October 1, 2015 I really like that flag, Daddas-angelbaby. I showed it to my little and we both agreed we want a large poster printed, or a flag of it to put on the wall above our bed.
