cuppycakes Posted January 3, 2017 Report Posted January 3, 2017 Hi there! Well, in my opinion, what you're feeling is very real and can be very scary especially if this is your first time battling something like depression. I was depressed for a long time (though the toughest thing for me was my anxiety) and tried therapy. It was not for me, but I have many friends who had great results with it. I was put on medication for a while, and I was super scared. I never liked the idea of medication it was always so daunting and overwhelming to me. (My daddy didn't like it either, and tried to convince me not to go on it because he had a bad experience in the past.) HOWEVER, going on those meds was one of the best decisions I've ever made, and now I don't need them anymore. Your mom is probably right in a sense that you might have to be more confident, but I don't know why a psychologist couldn't help with that. That's kind of their job is to help people with mental issues they're facing sometimes we just need someone to talk it out with. If you want advice on being less anxious and certain things you can do in your head to help, you can message me (or just reply to this. I'll see you ). Mostly all I've got up my sleeve is life advice and things to tell yourself. One last thing: I'm glad you posted this. There's nothing wrong with you and there's nothing wrong with asking for help. ♡ 1

cuppycakes Posted January 3, 2017 Report Posted January 3, 2017 Thank you for saying that, in my family my mom, my aunt and grandma suffered from depression and panic attacks so I guess they influenced me a bit ,-, My family, too. It sucks, but I think it has an upside to it. I have a friend whose mother never had to deal with anything like that before (and if she did, she was ashamed of it), so when she found out her daughter had it, she was unsupportive and downright awful. My mom at least understood and wanted to help me. Sometimes I had to remind her what it was like, though. It's easy to forget how it felt to feel that way (especially when it was so long ago). 1

Yes I think that talking with people helps, I did it with my daddy and he wants to travel a lot with me and make me happy and I'm feeling better everytime we stay together ;w; but I hope I will be strong enough because I want to feel good with myself, even if I'm all alone
LittleLola Posted January 3, 2017 Report Posted January 3, 2017 Depression sucks... I think therapy is a good thing, I am not fond of medication, but that will also help... I refuseds my meds, the thing that helps me is doing something that truely makes me happy, something that lifts your spirits and make your heart sing! For me its something really simple, I play with my Sylvanian Families (Calico critters), just clears my head and makes me relaxed! Maybe you have something like that? A hobby? Toys? Dolls? Crafts? I hope this will help you a bit! 1
Ambsie Posted January 4, 2017 Report Posted January 4, 2017 I find music helps, try to do stuff that would take your mind of things, I finds the longer I'm left with my mind wandering the worse I feel, so preoccupation can help, smiling releases happiness hormone too, so try to smile even when low. (Easier said than done) at times it's just a way to cope, or lesson the harsh feelings. These are just tactics I use. Anyone dealing with anxiety and depression urns respect, because the pain it can cause is unbelievable and you have to fight with yourself daily. Things will improve <3 3

I would love calico critters but they0re too expensive here I want to make a fairy garden and build my own doll house! LittleLola Posted January 4, 2017 Report Posted January 4, 2017 I know depression makes you THINK you hate the things you love... I am in depression myself right now (almost over it! Yay!), but my Daddy made me do the stuff I love. He just sends me to my playroom and makes sure I start playing! He helps me to step over that invisible line... I hope someone can do this for you too! Take care, all will be well soon! Hug!
