"Clean" movies ?

Hello Daddys and littles !

There was a discussion in chat that is sparking this post !

I personally along with my Daddy do not watch movies with sex , or nudity for numerous reasons.

One of which , mostly with newer movies , sex and nudity seems to be the majority of the plot line. The movie gets lost in the nude women and sex scenes and making men and women both feel like they have an impossible standard to live up to , along with many other things.

I suppose my question is , what are good quality movies that do not include nudity or sex ? Movies that don't fall into the typical sexually pulsed world these day ?

Please , send your suggestions our way for all who feel the same !

I like the idea and would like to add several that I think are of the feelgood variety. I have included the rating as well.

  • The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel   PG-13
  • The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel   PG
  • The Hundred-Foot Journey   PG

These are a few I think you and your daddy will like so grab the popcorn and enjoy.

Tons and tons, Monkey... From this year alone, none of my top five revolve around conventional sexual stereotypes. I'd give my top five films of 2016 as follows...

1. Midnight Special (amazing sci-fi movie. totally clean. I went in blind. Loved it).

2. Swiss Army Man (wicked and unusual little indie film. Definitely little material).

3. Hell or High Water (gritty, brilliant acting and story. Probably up Daddy's alley).

4.The Lobster (Oddball take on modern relationships. Bizarre, and quite funny).

5. The Neon Demon (Sexual, but very unique, smart, and slick film. Great beats).

Enjoy!

I have nothing to input into this, but now that I think about it. I want to start looking into this. I watch mostly kids stuff anyways.

There are so many movies that are good without having nudity it is hard to list... I assume you guys have seen the Back to the Future and Indiana Jones Trilogies?  (Don't watch Indiana 4.)  How about Groundhog Day, Lost in Translation, or The Goonies?  My summer campers loved A Night at the Roxbury, though it is a little dated, now.

@Magi

As for, "Kid's Stuff," I would recommend a few of my old favourites from when I was a kid...

1. Flight of the Navigator (probably introduced me to my love of Sci-Fi. I still love this movie).

2. Willow (Absolute cracker).

3. The Land Before Time (Any little who hasn't heard of this series will probably faint from an overdose of cuteness when watching the original film).

The following little short animations were constantly on the VHS previews of Disney and WB tapes when I was a kid... A great many of them are available to stream on youtube. These three particularly come to mind when thinking back to those days. I've hyperlinked the youtube clips of the following... edit: @monkey Thanks for the thread and the trip down memory lane! Love it!

1. Lambert the Sheepish Lion

2. The Small One

3. A Knight for a Day

To bridge the gap between little and Daddy, I would recommend a few films which may have flown under your radar...

1. A Scanner Darkly (check out the method of animation, and the mammoth cast. Check out the author, and the other stories/films he wrote).

2. Waltz With Bashir (an incredible and murky animated "documentary" from Ari Folman, that looks at his foggy memories of the 6-Day War).

3. Graveyard of the Fireflies (Moving 1988 Manga. Probably best to keep a box of tissues and your Daddy's hand close by. Simply brilliant).

4. The Congress (Ari Folman again. This one is outstanding. It is a dreamy bridge between animation and film. 10/10).

I could do Film, TV, and Music recommendations for days... This thread is my cheddar :p

Happy New Year, lovely people!

I terms of genres, any movies from the 50s. (I'm not that old, but I like movies from that era). They contain a lot of dialog, not special effects or sex. You might enjoy finding such movies and find the approach to subject matter interesting / different.  Getting newer, you would have Hitchcock movies, not to mention Orson Welles; some truly great works. Hidden gems to a lot of people.

Also, Sci-Fi is good for you (I Robot, Minority Report)

I terms of individual recommendations :

If you fancy something newer but really good quality try the 2012 Best Picture Oscar winner 'The Artist'.

If you fancy something really light but awesome, my 'secret indulgence' is 'A Knight's Tale' with the late Heath Ledger.

For some reason, I never get bored of watching that movie.

There's plenty of good films that don't fall into the sexual category, but here's three real greats imo.

The Grand Budapest Hotel (quirky to the max)

The Martian

Donnie Darko

The Martian tends to get overshadowed by Interstellar, but I personally prefer the Martian since it's smaller scale and feels more 'human', whereas Interstellar gets a bit too involved in its hypothetical science (although mad props to it for trying to bring complex theoretical physics to a mainstream audience)

Haha.  Grand Budapest Hotel is a fantastic film!  I couldn't remember if there was anything sexual in it, I didn't remember any but the film's so quaint that it's not going to be offensive anyway.  Great minds!

Yeah, I had similar feelings, except it was along the lines of Matt Damon really needs to stop getting stranded on planets.  He's making a habit of it now.  Stop, Matt Damon stop!

If you are into musicals, which who among us doesn't wish life were really like that, seriously. I have a problem, bursts into song and problem is solved.

  • The Pirate Movie - an all time personal favorite.
  • Grease
  • Grease 2 - I know this will send chills through the Danny/Sandy lovers but I prefer this to the original for several reasons. I won't open that can of worms here.
  • Footloose - Innuendo perhaps but no sex, liked the original best but the remake is ok

For just plain fun I would say any of the classic Disney movies like.

  • Herbie The Love Bug - any of the franchise are just fun movies
  • The Shaggy D.A.
  • The Computer Who Wore Tennis Shoes
  • The World's Greatest Athlete - one of my favorites
  • The Apple Dumpling Gang
  • The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again
