Christmas crafting ideas?

Recommended Posts

I wanna craft something christmassy for my daddy but I'm a bit short on ideas.

I wanna make christmas balls for his tree, thats not so hard, just take one of those balls (dunno what its called, see link -> http://www.makeandcreate.se/media/pb11105005_large.jpg)then take a silky thread in some nice collor and just sew it around the ball -> pretty.

Or take one of those balls and cover it on glitter! -> everything is awesome with glitter!

Then you can make cute christmas cards

Origami -> hard but so pretty!

But then I'm all out of ideas, sort of, anyone got any tips?

Make salt dough hand prints and paint them as Santa. We did this with the kids. Just Google salt dough Santa.

Can also buy bulbs from dollar store And put your hand print on it and make each finger into a snow man.

I painted a few Christmas canvases this year they are super cute.

Candy cane reindeer.

Diy snow globes. Just need a mason jar (dollar store) a hot glue gun or super glue, glitter, and something to put inside. I used tiny trees and deer I got from the decoration section of the dollar store.

String art. Make any design you want. Requires any type of string or yarn, a piece of wood, and some tacks or finishing nails.

Well, doesn't have to be a dollar store, all the supplies for any of those crafts can be found in most stores. I'm just super cheap lol. And have 4 dollar stores that are 5 minutes or less from my house.

Candycane reindeer are made by putting two candycanes together with the hook parts facing out. Tie with yarn, glue on googly eyes and a nose. Add ribbon if you like. I can't seem to add images, says file too big, but you can Google them.

I'm a bit of a cheap ass too, most stores here dont have DIY stuffs that are within reasonable price sadly, I'm not gonna pay $10+ for something worth $5, if I want that I would have to go online shopping and I wanna craft like right now, plus the shipping aint cheap either. .-.

You could make pom poms and make them into Christmas characters like Santa or Rudolph or a Snowman. They're easy to make and could be hung as an ornament if you wanted :) All you really need is Yarn to make them.

Here's some examples for you

Get plastic ball ornaments and use a hair dryer to melt broken pieces of crayon inside!

Ooooo!! I'll try to link pics if I can (how do I do that?) but I made my daddy a "fake" gingerbread house!! "Fake" meaning I made it out of cardboard! I used a square box for the house and cut a door in it. Then I made the roof out of two rectangles laid against eachother in a roof shape (hot glue those together, or normal glue if your daddy doesn't want you using hot glue) and then I painted it all brown. Then I made candy shapes out of clay and when they dried I painted them real colorful and then hot glued them on the house and used white paint as "icing"! It was so fun to make!! And then I made little Christmas gnomes out of paper to live inside!! ❤️❤️❤️
