Have any of you met rude Daddies/Doms on FetLife

It can happen no matter where you go. It's not just isolated to fetlife. As someone who has been on fetlife for nearly four years, I have had many terrible experiences as well as many amazing ones. I've found events I have thoroughly enjoyed and now attend monthly and annually, I've met (now ex) partners, I've made super close friends, and I've had experiences I would not have otherwise had the opportunity for. If I had let those bad experiences put me off I would not have had all the incredible ones. Which is how so many things in life work. Not everything is always going to be perfect and sometimes you go through a few not so idea things to get to things that are good. 

 

I know it's basically human nature to remember and focus on the bad. I'm sorry to say it but it won't be your last bad experience online. It happens everywhere and you learn to ignore it. Fetlife can be a great place so try not to let this one thing ruin it for you

The thing with fetlife is that it’s a website for the whole BDSM spectrum and you will Find ‘daddies’ there that are just looking for sexual gratification....my advice is just to block or report anyone who steps out of line with you in such a manner...overall there are plenty of well mannered normal guys on fetlife who understand the true aspect of respect...it’s just a shame that a lot of girls have to deal with the twats too.

 

But overall I do recommend the site as it’s good for making friends and learning about yourself.

Just like with any site, there are plenty of assholes and plenty of nice people.

 

I love fetlife, but don't use it as a dating site.  I mostly use it to find events and then make friends in person at those events.  I do also use it to discuss things on the forums.

 

 

If I could recommend, rather than posting a personal ad yourself and dealing with the plethora of dicks who respond, either look at the ads that guys post, or look at the forums and look for people who impress you with what they say and how they say it.  If you see someone that looks interesting, then go looking at their past posts, and who they are friends with and how they interact online.  Research like that will give you enough of an idea if you want to message someone and introduce yourself.

My experience with fetlife is that majority of people who aren't apart of a kink community or interested in making ties in real life are more likely to be rude, disrespectful, and angry. The thing to remember that fetlife serves as a kinky facebook meant for socializing and keeping up with people/community and not primarily a place to find a sub/dom although there are places to advertise.

To add to my original post on this, i will say that i have met more losers from vanilla dating sites than i ever have from fet. Here's a tip....ignore the randoms who message you, who are only there for wank fodder. Hey, it's a kink site, what do people expect? It's full of people with pics of their body parts. The horn-dogs see the majority of girls on there screaming "look at my boobs and ass, but don't you dare ask me for sex!" It's utterly ridiculous. But they don't distinguish between that type, and people like me, that never once posted anything intimate in either words or picture.

To be fair, I've met rude littles and daddies on there.

 

It's what prompted my earlier thread of being too old. I find this place less bothered about age than fetlife.

 

I'm always surprised how forums for people who don't fit with society's "norms" can be judgemental.

 

As an older man, I'm sorry to hear that others of my gender and age are rude to littles. I'd certainly hope it doesn't put you off the nice ones out there.
