Oh it was good! As a film, it did really well portraying it's plot and the intensity of all the emotions. It completely did it's job. It did it's job a little too well, for me. I couldn't stop crying the rest of the day! That's why I can't watch it again. And the live-action film was just as soul-jerking. that's what I meant by horrible.... it was horrible to me. Like it hurt me to watch.

No I totally get what your saying. That whole heart-jerking soul-crushing emotional overwhelming sadness it's part of the beauty of the movie. It really is a lot to handle, and the same reason you don't want to watch it again is part of the awe and wonderment for this movie for me. lol Isn't weird? How that works for two different people. I never even knew there was a live-action film. I'm tempted to check it out actually. Is it an English dub?

I'm completely obsessed. I own them all and make absolutely everyone watch them. Spirited Away is my favorite, but Howl's Moving Castle is a close second. Totoro is one I watch when I really want to get into little space, though. There's just something about it that helps calm me. ^_^

I'm pretty sure there is. (cause I definitely don't know Japanese, LOL)  I'm not sure if it's sub or dub though. It's been a while so I can't remember exactly.
