SassyAssyBrat Posted October 26, 2016 Report Posted October 26, 2016 Hiya I'm Jen! I was just wondering if there are any other Studio Ghibli lovers here?? I absolutely adore Totoro, and Kiki, and I has a huge crush on Howl hehehehe 4
MadameButterfly Posted October 26, 2016 Report Posted October 26, 2016 I grew up watching Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle and all the other amazing Studio Ghibli films! They're some of the best animated films ever. Plus the music is always amazingly wonderful! 2

Eris Posted October 26, 2016 Report Posted October 26, 2016 I also love Ghibli movies and "The girl who leapt threw time" not Ghibli but it looks and feels like one. 1

Guest Posted October 26, 2016 Report Posted October 26, 2016 I love all the movies so much but I think Howl's moving castle is my favorite 1
SassyAssyBrat Posted October 26, 2016 Author Report Posted October 26, 2016 I can't believe there are so many of you!!! I was just introduced to them about 2 years ago, and I absolutely fell in love with them <3 Thus far the only one I don't like is Graveyard of Fireflies. It's soooooo sad!!! There is a movie called The Wolf Children that is done by an artist that trained under the same people. It is beautiful but it broke my heart. Seriously cried for hours Anywho, I think JiJi is my spirit animal lol he's so sarcastic lol and I relate to Mei and Sophie more than any of the other Ghibli characters.
PrincessCupcake25 Posted October 27, 2016 Report Posted October 27, 2016 I love Ghibli!! Spirited away was my favorite growing up! I love Howl and I absolutely adore Ponyo and Totoro!!! 1
KumihoDoll Posted October 27, 2016 Report Posted October 27, 2016 I love the storylines, the art, the animation, just ahhhh. <3 Total fangirl here. 1
Guest Cloud9Dreamer Posted October 27, 2016 Report Posted October 27, 2016 I absolutely love Kiki!! I've seen Howl's Moving Castle, too, and Spirited Away, but Kiki is always gonna be my favourite!! 1
Guest grr Posted October 30, 2016 Report Posted October 30, 2016 Love studio Ghibli, found Kiki's delivery service by accident but really enjoyed it, my favourite has to be spirited away, love the idea of a bath house for demons and spirits. Have just been watching valley of the wind, only half way through though. I grew up in the seventies when there was a lot of unusual animation around from Scandinavia and eastern Europe ( Moomins for example) great topic!
SassyAssyBrat Posted October 30, 2016 Author Report Posted October 30, 2016 I haven't watched valley of the wind or Ponyo yet, but I'm gonna soon
Sparkleprincess Posted October 30, 2016 Report Posted October 30, 2016 I've only seen Kiki. I need to watch more! 1
SassyAssyBrat Posted November 4, 2016 Author Report Posted November 4, 2016 Yes you do Sparkleprinces! They are fantastical <3
CrazyLittleBuggaBoo Posted November 4, 2016 Report Posted November 4, 2016 Studoi Ghibli is the shiznizz!!! I freaken love them! All there movies are soooo good. I think I've seen most of Studio Ghibli's movies. I watch Studio Ghibli like I watch Disney! I'll list some of the movies I think are less known by people, cause they are just sooo good. Should watch them all!! Grave of the Fireflies Whisper of the Heart Tales from Earthsea From Up on Poppy Hill Pom Poke The Cat Returns((I haven't actually seen this :/ I can't find it online and that's the only way I get to watch these nowadays)) My favorites are Grave of the Fireflies My Neighbor Totoro From up on Poppy Hill Castle in the Sky Howl's Moving Castle Whisper of the Heart Kiki's Delivery Service Arrietty 1
Guest grr Posted November 4, 2016 Report Posted November 4, 2016 There is a website called Kamaji that has most of the popular Ghibli titles. I have had no problems with the site but I have watched sport on other similar sites that infected me with adware so be careful and scan pc's after use just to be safe. 1
Guest Maru Posted November 5, 2016 Report Posted November 5, 2016 Me! I just bought 3 ghibli DVDs that arrived in the mail today, so happy and can't wait to watch them! I've only watched one out of the three I bought. 1
SassyAssyBrat Posted November 11, 2016 Author Report Posted November 11, 2016 Grave of Fireflies is the only one I just could finish watching. I was sobbing, and just couldn't do it. I absolutely loved Arrietty and Tales from Earthsea <3 Ghibli makes me so freakin happy
Aaleayha Posted November 11, 2016 Report Posted November 11, 2016 (edited) I don't think I can choose which one I like more. Kiki was my first! When I was in Middle School about 16 year ago. Disney used to play it. Then Princess Mononoke is the second one I watched. My more serious one. I fell in love with it. Then Howl's Moving Castle. I fell in love with the books... I found out that it has even more then Howl's Moving Castle. The author has even more! My latest one was Tales of EarthSea and Ponyo. I loved them just as much as the rest!I finished Grave of the Fireflies. But never again! NOOO. I made the mistake of watching the unanimated version. It was just as horrible. CrazyLittleBuggaBoo Posted November 11, 2016 Report Posted November 11, 2016 (edited) Grave of the Fireflies is so good though! Yeah, it's pretty sad and it might make your heart hurt at times, but it's such a touching story! A boy and his little sister, their struggle to survive the end of world war 2. It's sad but beautiful. Edited November 11, 2016 by CrazyLittleBuggaBoo

Yeah, it's pretty sad and it might make your heart hurt at times, but it's such a touching story! A boy and his little sister, their struggle to survive the end of world war 2. It's sad but beautiful. Oh it was good! As a film, it did really well portraying it's plot and the intensity of all the emotions. It completely did it's job. It did it's job a little too well, for me. I couldn't stop crying the rest of the day! That's why I can't watch it again. And the live-action film was just as soul-jerking. that's what I meant by horrible.... it was horrible to me. Like it hurt me to watch. 1
Guest preciousbun Posted November 12, 2016 Report Posted November 12, 2016 Yessss! I love My Neighbor Totoro the most! I have the biggest crush on Howl as well haha.
