As a new little I didn't realize I have skin allergies until I had my first paci and let me tell you, dry lips and a rashy mouth aren't cute. And then I stumbled on silicone paci's and let me tell you, I haven't had a problem since. So if you can't for whatever reason can't buy a paci online that is made for adults the best is to get teething level paci's and if you have sensitive skin, silicone is the way to go. Always look for BPA free, and shields with air ventilation make the difference people! Please don't learn this the hard way like I had to.

Sounds like you have a latex allergy! Most of the non silicone pacis are made of medical grade latex and can cause some pretty ugly reactions! I have a latex allergy but I sadly found that out the hard way (using a condom and having a serious reaction....down there..). Silicone I find lasts longer personally and it doesn't get all gummy which cam happen with the Latex ones!
