Proposing to my little

Hey everyone!! So me and my little have been dating for three years and recent developments have made me really want to propose to him!! The issue is I know what I want to do I'm just nervous I guess.

 

I want to take his promise ring I gave him awhile back get it polished up then have an engraving done on the inside. ( he loves this ring and would never accept a new one so it's not that I'm cheap or anything don't worry) the problem is im nervous to take it to Kay's and ask for an engraving that relates to DDlg because what if we realize later down the road it isn't for us? Then what? Get a new ring? Make sure he never takes this one off again?

 

So I'm trying to decide if I should do the engraving or not and if I do should it be DDlg related or just like I love you kind of thing?? Any help would be sooooo appreciated so please anyone give me some help or ideas or reassurance or anything really.

I think having it engraved inside the band is a sweet sentiment since he's so attached to it and it already symbolizes your relationship. I'm not sure what names or titles you two are using for each other currently, or how long you've been in this particular dynamic, but if you're feeling hesitant about incorporating titles into it, perhaps something else would be just as sweet?

 

You could engrave Forever Yours/Mine and the date you plan to propose? I'm sure lots of others will have ideas as well. That's what popped into my mind right away, though. I hope this helps. Congrats, and wishing you two the best!

Personally, I think you should engrave what's on your heart. Don't let the fear of the "future" depict what you do. Right now, in this time and place, this is your relationship (DDlg). Sure, that might change in the future. But for now this is where you are. And even if it does change out of that in the future, it will still represent your love for one another and what you mean to each other.

 

Plus, that will make it more sentimental and have more value. Even in the future if your relationship changes. It will still have the same meaning. That will never change
