I'm rather new to these forums, but when this idea popped into my head I felt the need to share!

I'm relatively early on in my treatment. 1-2 months approx. since diagnosis.

Personally, it's rather important to me that I take my daily medication. If I don't, I feel like I'm derailing on my recovery.

I have a tendency to dissociate. Which makes my memory very unreliable.

There are days where I'll take multiple doses, or none at all. They can have some serious consequences if I take too much.

I simply can't remember! I don't have a CG at the moment so it's up to me to record my days by myself.

I'm a very visual person, so keeping journals is difficult for me.

Has anyone else ever done personal sticker charts for things like this?

I think it'd be a good reward to be able to place a sticker whenever you take your meds!

And if you wonder later in the day... you can check the calendar for the sticker!

Maybe there could be a reward each week or each month if you didn't miss a day?

Trying to add support for other 'lone littles who struggle with self care!

This is a great idea! I love that you're taking the initiative to improve yourself and be healthy rather than waiting around for a caregiver steer you onto the right path, something I admit I'm a bit guilty of doing.

I've struggled with remembering to take my meds for over a decade now and I honestly wish I would have thought of this for myself. I think it would work well for anything that people with memory issues might forget if they've done.

So starting a sticker chart for chores. No CG to reward me but I will manage. I love this idea! You could possibly find an app for this as well. But the idea of coloring and making a sticker chart is just way more appealing :-)

Haha honestly, sometimes waiting for the right CG can just take too darn long! What am I to do in the mean time? Even if I like to feel small, I can't deny that I'm a big girl that needs to do unfun big girl things.

I definitely suggest trying it! I'm going to be drawing my calendar and attempting this. It seems to be effective at least in theory. Knowing me, though, I'd be that person that puts multiple stickers on one day just because stickers are too fun!!

Silly Pony, little girls don't get to use smartphones! They cause too much distraction for curious minds. I know they would for me. (or rather, they do. And my computer, too. I don't ever get anything done.)

And 100% agree, drawing and coloring your own chart/calender sounds much more fun, and you can add all the beads and glitter and feathers you want to it! Here's an idea: Laminate the chart and the 'stickers' or whatever you want to use to mark a job well done. Put little velcro patches on the back of the stickers and on the spaces on the chart. (I'm sure you can find them at HobbyLobby) So then your chart is reusable! They did that with us when I was in school. Or you can use Popsicle sticks and paper pockets if your teachers ever did that!

What a great idea!  I am easily distracted anyway and wonder if I would ever manage to actually place the cute stickers on the calendar!  LOL!  Have a fantastic day!     :)

I love sticker charts. I need to make a new one. I usually give myself a sticker for accomplishing a task like taking medicine, cleaning, brushing teeth, tidying room, etc.

A sticker chart is a good idea, but I highly recommend a weekly pill box also. My son and I both take meds daily. I take one 4 times a daily and like you not taking them isn't a good option and can have a negative effect. I have also struggled with remembering if I had taken a dosage. I fill the boxes every Saturday and then I can easily see if I have taken the med. It has greatly reduced my stress level. My biggest issue is taking my night time meds on time. Maybe a sticker chart for taking it on time will work.

I highly recommend a sticker chart! It's a really fun way to keep track any daily/weekly tasks, and you get to go shopping for stickers (I've gotten both normal stars/smiles and fun princesses/heroes too)! Definitely keep it close to wherever you keep/take your medication. I think if rewards will keep you on track they're a great tool, but sometimes just seeing a calendar full of stickers is a reward because you know you're doing a good job of taking care of yourself!
