Littles and Lolita?

Recommended Posts

Hey folks! So I'm starting to connect my preference for Little clothes to certain styles of Lolita dresses and was curious if any Littles here are into Lolita style? Any types, resources, or good websites to shop? I know it's an expensive hobby but I'd love to look into it!

Yee I was waiting for a lolita post! I am really into lolita fashion! My favorite brand is Angelic Pretty!

If you're looking for the brand name stuff from the more popular brands, I'd suggest going here for used and new but slightly cheaper stuff!

I clicked on this hoping you were talking about the book  :l but I'm relatively knowledgeable about the fashion style too  :). LavanderRabbit and I used to talk about it all the time on here.

I just want to make a clarification for anyone reading this who doesn't already know: Lolita fashion has nothing to do with the novel of the same name. Lolita fashion also has nothing to do with the CG/L relationship dynamic. Sure you can be into two (or even all three) of these things at the same time, but they are not inherently related.

Here is an old thread that you might find interesting/helpful:

I use to wear Sweet and Casual lolita all the time, but i gained a liiitttlleee bit of weight so my brand dresses no longer fit

You can buy dresses used from your local community, you can usually find them on facebook or at cons, they'll hold swapmeets. you can get brand second and third hand for about 20-30% discounted

there's also

http://bodyline.jp/en/lol.html for beginners with not a lot of money, my first skirt came from here
http://www.qutieland.com/

there's also indie brands like
holley tea time [ a personal friend of mine]
kawaii carnival
dolldelight [not specifically lolita, but does a lot of punk styled outfits and takes custom orders as well]

avoid ebay and amazon shops selling items. and anything from this list

I'm into sweet lolita fashion and fairy kei, but I've been really hesitant at the idea of mixing lolita fashion with being a Little.

Though not always, people can get the wrong idea about the fashion itself because of the book with the same name, and a lot of the fashion-wearers have to explain that the two have nothing to do with each other.

Doesn't help that my Dd is almost an entire foot taller than me, even if he's technically a little younger. It all just seems so backwards to me.

As for shopping for lolita though and not to repeat any links, there are also Facebook groups you can join.

There are some for learning more about the fashion, as well as to buy, trade and sell - and there are groups based on style and areas (UK/US/EUROPE/World Wide, etc).

I love Lolita! I don't get to wear the clothes, but I enjoy the style very much. I feel like my "little style" is very inspired by Sweet Lolita.

Lolita is awesome! And I love it! But if your looking to get into it, being a Little, I'd be careful in the Lolita Community(ies). Like with everything, Littles get unfairly hated on. However, I can see where some of them are coming from. Like being a Little, being a Lolita is often misunderstood and hated on... Also, http://lolita-tips.tumblr.com/ is a pretty helpful Lolita blog for Lolita Beginners :D

I mostly shop at https://www.cutesykink.co.uk/ since they do a variety of cute clothing, they don't do much Lolita but it's still very cute. I think the prices are reasonable, though the shoes tend to cost more than the actually clothing.

Hi hi! Been in the Lolita Com for 4 yrs and love both Classic and Sweet. and would love to share some a great website I recommend for those on a budget!❤

http://www.my-lolita-dress.com is a great, reliable online shop that sells Taobao brands. Ordered oodles of times and have never experienced a negative experience!

Just a heads up, though, like someone else stated, since the fashion gets so much speculation as it being related to the book with the same name or something sexual, I wouldn't suggest mixing it with ddlg, or if you wish to, to probably not voice it to the Lolita Community since most frown upon DDLG and Littles in general, and has bashed some littles in the past because of it (sad but the truth). :(
