Question about pacifiers.

I just got my first paci but I live with my brother, I was wondering if it was mandatory to boil it (silicone) to clean it the first time or if I could just wash it or soak it in hot water.

When I got my first one the instructions said to either boil or clean thoroughly with warm/hot water and dish soap, then rinse thoroughly with warm/hot water several times.  I live with a close friend and her brothers and dad, so I chose to do the warm water and dish soap method and it worked really well.  Mew will need to rewash/re-boil(depending on which mew choose to do) every so often to keep it clean/ disinfected.

Hope that this helps mew. :)

I did not know that either :o But I never got any problems with it by chance !

Also I know that mam pacifiers come in a box that you can microwave to desinfect, that's another alternative I guess :)

Okay I used to nanny for a living and the disinfecting/boiling stuff is mostly because babies have compromised immune systems. So if you want to just thoroughly wash it with soap and warm water as you do with your dishes, that should be perfectly fine. (to be honest I don't think parents should even be so paranoid about what goes into babies mouths, those guys get into some nasty shit and honestly you build immunity through exposure. but the manufacture have to write that in because otherwise they'd get in trouble for safety hazard) But anyway that's my 2 cents!
