Card games, board games, ...

Soooo , I started this topic cause I'm bored .. And cause I see everyone has witten, either on their personal or profile, that they love video games and what not. Well I have ABDSOLUTELY NO INTEREST in those. I find games where you actually interact with people much more amussing... Sure you may say that you can talk on skype and what on while playing games, but ehh, it's not the same. I LOVE playing poker (Texas hold'em, Omaha, stud,...) and other card games which I don't know how to translate to english haha ... Also I love board games like monopoly or chess.

 

Any likeminded people?

 

Idk it just bugs me how people are so hung up on video games these days, they just don't hold any appeal to me. I don't wanna sound like a grandpa (am actually 21 xD), but I worry for future generations. I have a lil cousin and he literally spends all his time playing call of duty and what not ... I remember me and my friends literally played in the barn as kids, like making forts and what not and was much more fun that games like this ever could be. Pluss I see that like every 4 year old has an iphone, a laptop and a LCD tv in his bedroom ... WTF??

I only recently got into video games, I've properly played an astounding 3 games now, so I understand where you're coming from, playing games with friends is a lot more fun, although I don't get to do it often.

 

My Father is actually a self employed chess set maker, so I grew up playing chess with him and showing my friends how to play it.

And Boss plays DnD every sunday, I think one of my friends is going to set up a Game of Thrones dnd game that I'm going to join in with soon too ^^

 

My little sister has just turned 11, and I cant remember the last time I had a conversation with her that wasn't about pokemon or some sort of nintendo game, and since she got a smart phone as an early birthday present, I rarely see her face as its always covered by her phone or DS!

I think its fine for kids having these things, its all fun and theyre enjoying themselves, but it does get very excessive!

I've been really wanting to buy Candy Land lately  it was my favorite when I was tiny!  I really like Life & Monopoly too!  Oh!  & Battleship!

Well, it's a card game, and also a video game but I love Hearthstone. LOL.

 

I like table top games like D&D too if that counts.

 

Who doesn't love Monopoly though, even though it brings out the worst in me.

I still like video games (but I am picky lol ) but boardgames are fun. Candy land is my all time favorite! Also go fish and uno are awesome too!

I love video games, but I also really love board and card games too. I absolutely love trivia games. I get what you mean about actually human interaction, but me and my siblings play Mario games all the the time and we have a blast. It becomes a problem when one person is devoting all their time to playing a game, alone, for hours with no human interaction and very limited physical movement.
