Antoinette Posted August 22, 2016 Report Posted August 22, 2016 I love my binkies but they can really hurt my mouth and teeth ;-; Does anybody else have this problem?
princesschibi Posted August 22, 2016 Report Posted August 22, 2016 They make my teeth feel funny after a while. And I if angle it wrong it puts too much pressure on my tongue ring and really hurts.
FawnKitten Posted August 22, 2016 Report Posted August 22, 2016 I have the same problem, I really want to get an adult sized one but they're so expensive, so I'll have to settle with sucking my thumb
Littleharleyq Posted August 22, 2016 Report Posted August 22, 2016 Agreed they give my teeth a weird feeling but I settle.
Guest TwinklingSpace Posted August 23, 2016 Report Posted August 23, 2016 I love paci's! I've kind of become obsessed with them the last few months. When I first started using them, I had a hard time sucking on them. For some reason I couldn't figure out how to do it, lol. But once I got the hang of it, I too noticed it hurt my front teeth and the my tongue would become sore. I finally realized that there are different teats. I've noticed that the "dentist approved" ones don't hurt as much. And the ones I got from the Dollar Tree are like a long plastic, there's no bubble at the end of the teat. So these don't hurt my teeth either. I've also noticed at Toys R Us/Babies R Us, that they had pacifiers for older toddlers and the teats were a LOT bigger. Maybe you can try some of these out and they can help?
princesschibi Posted August 24, 2016 Report Posted August 24, 2016 .I've also noticed at Toys R Us/Babies R Us, that they had pacifiers for older toddlers and the teats were a LOT bigger. I've seen these. They come in less color/patterns which makes me sad. But I still want to try one out to see if its better.

They're a little on the expensive side, but I really want to try them out too. You can always customize the pacifier. If you like the way it feels but not the way it looks: repaint, add jewels, bows, etc.
Littlest_Lushie Posted August 24, 2016 Report Posted August 24, 2016 I find that adult pacis work well for me. They are only about $12 dollars or so- and are a worthwhile investment for your comfort/health in my opinion. I found that I could use the adult pacis much longer without pain, than with normal baby sized ones. Never going back to the baby size EVER AGAIN. Aww So Cute has good starter adult pacis (shop in USA) and I can get one shipped to me for $17 including shipping and everything! They have lots of colors too. Onesies Down Under is good too- but are in Australia- good prices still and good quality. Just my 2 cents!!!

I just wish they came in the same cute colors/patterns the smaller ones do. I've seen some cute customs on Etsy I'd also like to get.
Guest Littlepup Posted August 28, 2016 Report Posted August 28, 2016 this is interesting and good to know.. I haven't got a paci, but I'm not sure if I want one or not.. part of me feels too old for paci but I end up wanting to suck Daddy's thumb at night
Lt.SassyRed Posted August 30, 2016 Report Posted August 30, 2016 I just got my first paci this week and I totally love them my teeth feel a little funny in the morning... but I grind my teeth away!
MisterMomo Posted August 31, 2016 Report Posted August 31, 2016 Hi I was grinding my teeth and got a Nuk 5 paci years ago. It was that or a mouth piece to protect my teeth. It's My binkie now and I don't care it's only white. It's Way bigger than a usual baby pacifier... very more confortable and Fun. With a little help and time you could even Decor it as you want. There are binkie like this around 10$ to 20$ on ebay. Maybe you can ask your Caretaker to buy you a nice one! ... Littlepup: Maybe you can try one for 2 weeks and if you don't like it and you're too old for it... you'll know! ... Maybe you'll like it and end up keeping it ... ... My guess is that you'll like it a lot!
princesschibi Posted September 1, 2016 Report Posted September 1, 2016 Does anyone else get dry mouth/really thirsty when using binkies? I feel like I have bad dry mouth now.
15884_1655600399 Posted September 1, 2016 Report Posted September 1, 2016 I would definitely suggest an adult paci, they have ones for 8$ at little for big, plus they have free shipping world wide!
AngelPrincessGina Posted September 2, 2016 Report Posted September 2, 2016 The smaller nipples actually hurt my mouth less, so I go for the 0-6 months one more. I can't stop chewing through the nipples on any binky tho!
Guest littlemissbri Posted September 2, 2016 Report Posted September 2, 2016 Depending on the paci you can also change out the nipple. So you could find a cute paci and just put a bigger one in. I don't remember eho does it but there are people who will do this for you. You just send them the pacu and they switch it for you and send it back. Plus yeah, you can customize. Decoadorbs on tumblr make custom pacis.
IchigoHime Posted September 2, 2016 Report Posted September 2, 2016 I don't use a binkie too often, but when I do it does make my mouth feel funny. I just try to ignore it though cause I don't usually use it for too long.
Princess Joe Joe Posted September 4, 2016 Report Posted September 4, 2016 I had the same problem, and I also ignored it. I was used the 6-8 month old binkies, and I though it was just sore jaw muscles, but later I found out it was my teeth shifting. :blush:So I had to get a retainer and wear it, and that's when I made the switch to adult pacifers. I saw that on amazon they are relatively expensive, but I bought one from Esty and it was only about fourteen dollars. They are quite plain, but it just inspired me and my Papa to have a craft time where we picked out a cute sticker design and stuck it on and painted polka dots on it! It was super duper fun, so I encourage you all to spend the extra cash on an adult pacifier if you can spare it. It really helps your teeth! But, if you cant I recommend the ones that are 8-12 month olds that you can get at Babys R Us.
