manicpixidream Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 I just wanted to open up a discussion on sub-drop and ask everybody how they deal with it? Also, I was wondering if anyone has ever had drop-ception? Let me explain, Daddy and I went to a play party on Saturday and played again on Sunday, but I still dropped on Sunday even though we played. Has this ever happened to anyone?
Mr Dawn Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 From BDSM 101 : "Since the increase of hormones and chemicals has produced a trance-like state, as play ends the submissive may feel out-of-body, detached from reality. As the sub's system stops producing morphine-like drugs, and as the parasympathetic nervous system kicks in again, the sub may feel a deep exhaustion, a sharp drop in temperature, as well as incoherence and un-coordination. In the lifestyle, this is commonly referred to as "drop" or "sub-drop" @manicpixidream , what you're typical aftercare? 1
Kitten Cupcake Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 To be honest I had sub drop the next day after a session, I spoke to a friend about it because I didn't know what I was going through and he told me that he had sub drop about a week later. I think it all depends on the person. I at the moment was really freaking out internally and was questioning everything, (he went back home so he wasn't around) I didn't know it was "sub-drop" so to be honest and I didn't know how to make myself feel better, so I just cried all day and watched a funny movie but even then it didn't work. But now I know what to do to make myself better being coloring, or cuddling with my stuffy and watching my favorite movie and/or talking to my daddy/sir/ having him cuddle me.
Guest Sae Posted March 9, 2015 Report Posted March 9, 2015 I think this might be better in the DDlg forum compared to little space. I'll message Sophie so she can move it. Because not all littles do submit to their caregivers. <3 But none the less this is a great topic! Good job love! As for subdrop that's a really good thing to bring up.I think aftercare really aids in sub drop. I've only ever been in subdrop once because I didn't receive after care, and I have depression already so it made it a lot worse and I was stuck like that for awhile. Aftercare really helps. Here is a list of stuff people have put together with aftercare: http://www.ddlgforum.com/index.php?/topic/28-aftercare/
Little_Ghoul Posted April 4, 2015 Report Posted April 4, 2015 I go into sub drop once in awhile and gosh it sucks! I get really cold, depressed, and if it's really bad I start shaking. I'm lucky thought because my Daddy is really good at taking care of me; especially when I'm not feeling very well. He usually starts off by wrapping me up in warm blankets, then he gets me chocolate and water (chocolate helps with the endorphin drop). After that we normally watch silly cartoons and we cuddle.
BH_Bambi Posted April 4, 2015 Report Posted April 4, 2015 Even with aftercare, I can drop after a scene. It doesn't have to be an intense one, even a light self spanking on Skype can make me drop once the cam is off and I can no longer see Sir. Usually I'll message him "I'm feeling droppy" or similar, and he'll take care of me - a snack, a nap, my paci, and lots of reassuring words. 1
Guest DominantBlogger Posted April 7, 2015 Report Posted April 7, 2015 Subdrop is a chemical reaction and has little to do with the presence of aftercare. Aftercare can help dampen the emotional effects of subdrop, but it does not eliminate them. 2
