stargirl Posted January 6, 2017 Report Posted January 6, 2017 I just started Inkheart, which I never read as a kid, and I'm loving it! Inkheart is soooo good! I read the trilogy in middle school. You are in for a treat!
stargirl Posted January 6, 2017 Report Posted January 6, 2017 I'm currently reading (or should be reading) The Scientification of Love
Prince_Towelie Posted January 6, 2017 Report Posted January 6, 2017 Possibly my favorite novel, 'Straight Man', by Richard Russo. It's a hilarious story about an extremely dry witted English Professor at a podunk liberal arts college in the middle of PA, and his hijinks. Russo won the Putlizer for another novel, but one that is not as good, in my opinion.
Guest QueenJellybean Posted January 6, 2017 Report Posted January 6, 2017 Right now, I'm plowing through all the books I got for Christmas, as well as the books I've already bought with my gift cards (I got over $200 to Barnes and Noble this year!). My favorite author by far is Chuck Palahniuk. I just finished re-reading Choke by him, which is probably my favorite apart from Lullabye and Damned. I'm currently reading a book highly recommended by a friend, even though she knows I probably won't like it. It's the first of the Anita Blake series, Guilty Pleasures? Has anyone else read these and can weight in?
Tasha-Pasha Posted January 6, 2017 Report Posted January 6, 2017 I've read some of the Anita Blake series. They were recommended to me and although I know quite a few people who love the series I just couldn't get into them for some reason. They are not badly written, I just couldn't identify with the characters I think.
Guest Posted January 8, 2017 Report Posted January 8, 2017 ive read the first in the anita blake series and i liked it. im eventually going to read next one soon! 1
Guest QueenJellybean Posted January 18, 2017 Report Posted January 18, 2017 So, I finished the first Anita Blake. It wasn't bad. I'll read the next one, hopefully enjoy it a bit more. But right now, I'm reading Slasher Girls and Monster Boys, which is an anthology by April Genevieve Tuchoke. And oh, my god. You guys. If you are interested in horror/science fiction/fantasy at all and don't mind darker, scarier stories, please give it a read! Jesus. I'm so into this book!
shadowrider Posted January 19, 2017 Report Posted January 19, 2017 Pride and Prejudice and Zombies Jane Austen and Seth Grahame-Smith 1
TheRatQueen Posted January 19, 2017 Report Posted January 19, 2017 Right now I'm reading This Bridge Called My Back by Cherrie Moraga and Gloria Anzaldua. It's actually a textbook for a class, but it's really powerful stuff.

Kara Posted January 22, 2017 Report Posted January 22, 2017 I'm in the middle of a couple of book series myself: Dark Tower, Stephen King; Percy Jackson, and I want to start the new Magnus series. 1
Guest Posted January 24, 2017 Report Posted January 24, 2017 started an ebook the other night on my ipad, so i could still read while i was taking a bubble bath with the lights off and had candles lit lol Erika Wilde - "Playing with Temptation (The Players Club, #1)"
mysticbear Posted January 31, 2017 Report Posted January 31, 2017 Last week or so I've been reading Songs of a Dead Dreamer by Thomas Ligotti, it's a collection of short horror stories and it's incredible. Disturbed and fascinated me more than any horror movie I've seen, didn't think words could unsettle me so much. I've also made a start on Bitter Sweet Love by Michael Faudet, mixture of poetry and stories and little vignettes. Beautiful in places and has occasional erotic elements, very enjoyable.
princesspixie Posted February 4, 2017 Report Posted February 4, 2017 I finished reading the Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. Such a good book. Probably my new favorite. Now reading Wings by Aprilynne Pike, which is so cute and I'm enjoying it a lot.
mylittlesidewearsblack Posted February 4, 2017 Report Posted February 4, 2017 i am not reading anything right now and it makes me sad. i need a good recommendation for fun YA fiction.
~MagicalGirl~ Posted February 5, 2017 Report Posted February 5, 2017 I'm currently rereading A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray. It's a lovely fantasy story involving magic, plots and romance (of course)
AsrielDreemurr Posted February 5, 2017 Report Posted February 5, 2017 My current read is Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
LittleGirlBigLove Posted February 5, 2017 Report Posted February 5, 2017 My current read is Ready Player One by Ernest Cline i've read that book twice years ago when it first came out! I liked that there was a sci-fi adventure book around a video game, but the reason i loved it was the obsession on facts from the 80's. With VR becoming more popular it's even more interesting, almost makes me want to read it again...
Guest winter~☆ Posted January 9, 2020 Report Posted January 9, 2020 A Game of Thrones by George R. R. Martin. First book of A Song of Ice and Fire series. I love it very much! More than the tv series, which didn't inspire me very much.
Ebony Fruit Bat Posted January 10, 2020 Report Posted January 10, 2020 (edited) All I Want for Christmas is a Vampire ~ Kerrelyn Sparks This one is causing all kinds of anxiety, but I started it and need to finish. Bad with money ~ Gabby Dunn Because I'm a nerd and find these types of books funny, honest, and that they have a tiny bit of wisdom to share.
