Guest Dean Posted July 20, 2016 Report Posted July 20, 2016 Little Turtle lived in a turtle colony on the shore of a small lake near a big forest. Little Turtle wasn't her real name. She was called Little Turtle because she was smaller than all the other turtles. As the smallest, she was never allowed to play turtle games like bumper shells, or shell spin, or even run in the turtle races which could last all day. Some of the bigger turtles would be gone for days and come back with strange leaves, shiny rocks, and things that no one knew what they were. One time, her older brother, who was very big compared to Little, came back and his shell was a different color. Little Turtle got too close and some of the color came off on her. It took days to get it off. Little Turtle would sit and watch as the bigger turtles left and came back again and again from their adventures. All Little Turtle wanted was a big adventure of her own. One day, Little Turtle was playing on the shore of the lake when a shadow fell over her. She looked around and all the bigger turtles were diving and scurrying into the water. Suddenly, she was lifted into the air. Little Turtle cried out for help. She retreated into her shell and closed her eyes tight. She was very afraid. Little Turtle opened her eyes just as she was placed in a cardboard box. It was closed and everything got very dark. Little Turtle was very scared. The box tilted and turned and Little Turtle slid everywhere as the box was still big to her. Then, everything stopped moving, the box was opened, and she could see again. Several big faces looked down at her. Little Turtle was afraid that she would never see her friends and family and home again. That she would never have her big adventure. She wanted to cry. But, Little Turtle didn't cry. Instead, she got very very mad. How dare they take her from her friends and family and home? How dare they keep her from her big adventure? Little Turtle held her head up high and when a hand reached into the box to grab her, she bit it. Hard. As hard as she could. There was a scream as the hand left the box. Little Turtle knew this was her chance. She did her best shell spin into the most powerful bumper shell and knocked the box over. She ran as fast as any turtle in any turtle race ever ran by a turtle. And was caught. Little Turtle hid once again in her shell as she was placed back in the box. She slid everywhere as the box tilted and turned. Then, everything stopped and the box was opened. Little Turtle could see again. In front of her was her home. Her friends, family, and the entire turtle colony were looking out from the lake. They were all looking at her. Little Turtle realized, at that moment, that she had just been on her big adventure. Little Turtle held her head up high. She walked proudly to her home. All the turtles, each of them bigger than she was, came to meet her. But, she wasn't thinking about home or friends or family. Little Turtle was thinking about her next big adventure.
thatlilturtle20 Posted July 21, 2016 Report Posted July 21, 2016 I love it. Especially the turtle concept. I can't wait to see what Little Turtles next adventure is.
14400_1655600390 Posted July 21, 2016 Report Posted July 21, 2016 I like that she finally got her big adventure!
Guest Sassy Princess Posted July 21, 2016 Report Posted July 21, 2016 (edited) I came across your story when I couldn't sleep at all. The more of your story that I read the calmer that I felt and I just feel so much better about everything right now. I know it probably seems very silly that a little story could calm me like this, but it did. I just wanted to say thank you and that I appreciate your story very much. I think I might actually be able to sleep finally thanks to it. You must be a very good daddy if you can tell stories like this. Thank you times a gazillion, nighnights Edited July 29, 2016 by Sassy Princess

kissingkitten Posted July 22, 2016 Report Posted July 22, 2016 Thank you Dean. I like your stories. Do you ever record them in your voice? You could stary a soundcloud channel. =^..^=
Guest TwinklingSpace Posted August 17, 2016 Report Posted August 17, 2016 Really enjoyed this story. So happy that Little Turtle went on her adventure. Maybe if she waited a little longer, her adventure could have been a little longer and she would have had more to share?
