I'm not mentally handicapped in what society normally thinks of. My cognitive slowness is more of a processing issue caused by my chronic anemia, which is caused by my scoliosis. So, while I work hard at only coming across as air-headed in social settings... let me tell you, beginners tarot cards really do make that much of a difference for me. I can try and learn something all day long, but even once I've learned something, the goldfish memory occasionally kicks in. It's very frustrating, but it makes me that much more grateful for the distinct pictures and booklets. And despite my issues, I do enjoy a good reading! I don't use the deck that way. I'm not really concerned about what the universe thinks. I use the deck to reach my subconscious while I'm awake. It's a tool I use to search through my own aura. The universe can't really help me, if I don't know what I want. And being in an awakened state, hinders a person's true inner awareness, imho. But of course, to each their own. And my second favorite deck is Disney Villain themed. I use what I like without shame, but I identify as a grumpy old man... so that's probably why, lol.

I think that is awesome!! I have encountered learning-focused decks before and they do make the interpretations easier. I have also found that the best Tarot Decks will rely on images and pictures to show you the meaning. In fact, the very first Tarot Deck used for divination (Tarot de Marseilles 1700's) had simple pictures an illiterate public could use. It became complicated as self-appointed gurus tried to create more mystery from them with complicated explanations. The basics are the best! For interpretations, go with what you see and feel. Tarot is an Art, and everyone interprets them differently, like a story. Just tell it like you see it and let the cards guide the next part of it. Have fun and enjoy it. I have also heard about the 'gift-giving' tarot rumor. It sounds nice, like waiting for the Universe to speak to you, but there's no truth in it. If a Tarot Deck calls to you - That is the Universe speaking! Just pick up the phone and answer the call.

Feb 28, 2025 The Grand Parade of Planets and what it means astrologically
WizardofOSS posted a topic in Witches's Astrology
This Friday evening, look to the South of due West just at sunset (No more than 1 hour after sunset!!), and you'll see the grand planetary alignment of planets - Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus & Neptune (Use a Telescope for the last 2). I was wondering what this means astrologically? So here's some good information from https://astrostyle.com/2025-planetary-alignment-planet-parade-astrology/. Here goes.... MERCURY Planet No. 1 in the planetary alignment Mercury is the the messenger planet, directing the ways we think, communicate and share information. Mercury enters Pisces on Valentine’s Day 2025 (where it stays until March 3). In this sign, Mercury cranks the volume on your intuition, and you could download all sorts of divine inspiration. Your subconscious will be buzzing, especially after dark, during this transit. Make time for candlelight meditations, sound baths and any activities that relax your mind so you can receive messages and insight. Mercury is of course well known for Mercury retrograde. But don’t worry, the first Mercury retrograde of 2025 doesn’t begin until March 15! Don’t rush to share them all though! Mercury in Pisces can drive up ambiguity. VENUS Planet No. 2 in the planetary alignment Venus is the planet of love, beauty and harmony. This planet sets the stage for romance and indulges in Cupid’s offerings liberally. Vixen Venus vaulted into Aries on February 4, igniting a passionate pre-spring awakening. During the free-flowing Venus in Aries transit, it might feel more like “uncuffing season,” which could make relationships feel too close for comfort. Impulse control may be scarce, but as a rule, zip and unzip judiciously. Rash behaviors and decisions can come back to haunt you. A little impulse control will go a long way because love is lit during this longer-than-usual cycle…because it comes with a loophole: Venus retrograde. This six-week backspin begins (in Aries) on March 1, and could tamp down some of the bold, impulsive energy that’s signature for this sign’s hosting of the love planet. MARS Planet No. 3 in the planetary alignment Mars governs passion and sex drive. With its blood red color and raging dust storms, it is little wonder that Mars is also the planet associated with anger and combat. Mars began 2025 retrograde in Leo, where it started chilling out on December 6. It moved (still retrograde) into Cancer on January 6. The Mars retrograde in Cancer will make life frustrating until February 23. On that day the small-but-mighty planet moves forward (direct, as we astrologers say) and the frenetic energy should subside. For the final stretch of winter, set up the craft table and mix up some craft cocktails, as you get into the spirit of cold-weather communing. Vanquish the tension under your roof by decluttering, redecorating and making sure everyone has enough space to do their thing. The red planet’s motivational influence may inspire a home-based business or a pre-spring fitness challenge with roommates and relatives. If cabin fever has fanned the flames of conflict, here’s your cue to escape to the slopes for a weekend, or maybe the beach! JUPITER Planet No. 4 in the planetary alignment Jupiter is the big daddy of the solar system. In astrology, Jupiter inspires us to grow, expand and take risks. Jupiter ended a five-month retrograde in Gemini on February 4! The Jupiter Gemini transit began in May 2024 and lasts until June 9, 2025. While Jupiter is in fast-talking Gemini, ideas and intellect become reigning cosmic currency. Now that the Jupiter retrograde is over, don’t be shy about striking up conversations! Tag-team efforts are blessed with the mighty planet’s powers. This is your cosmic cue to think big and assert yourself boldly (well, once you have all the facts). Jupiter in Gemini can amplify your voice and help you reach a global crowd. Jupiter moves into Cancer on June 9, 2025. It will be big-hearted, philosophical Jupiter’s first sail on nurturing Cancer’s emotion ocean since 2014! As the red-spotted planet sounds a global call for empathy, expect kindness and compassion to be en vogue again. SATURN Planet No. 5 in the planetary alignment Saturn is the karma police, the whistle-blowing taskmaster of the skies. In astrology, Saturn governs time and the wisdom and expertise that comes from slow, steady and structured growth. Saturn spends three years in a zodiac sign and has been melting reality in Pisces since 2023. Saturn in Pisces. Stoic Saturn won’t fall back into a ditch (retrograde) until July 13, 2025. While Saturn is direct and the mature planet is humming along in sensitive Pisces, it’s opened a powerful window for you to explore your faith and heal from past triggers and traumas. It’s heavy stuff, but think of it this way: when your world is in order, it’s a whole lot easier to navigate the external world. That’s the beauty of the Saturn in Pisces transit (which lasts until February 2026). URANUS Planet No. 6 in the planetary alignment Uranus is the eureka! planet. It governs the zodiac sign Aquarius, under which Thomas Edison, inventor of the light bulb, was born. In astrology, radical and metaphysical Uranus is the planet that rules our higher minds. Uranus retrograde ended on January 30, in sensible Taurus. Uranus is in direct motion until September 6, 2025, giving us full access to its innovative, electrifying, future-forward energy. Uranus takes 84 years to cycle through the entire zodiac, hanging out in each sign’s “airspace” for approximately seven years. Whichever sign Uranus is orbiting through gives the planet its focus. Here is where we see innovation, chaos and massive societal changes. The Uranus in Taurus cycle began in 2018 and officially wraps on April 25, 2025. This year, we get a sneak peek of the 2026–2033 Uranus in Gemini transit, when the side-spinning planet slips into the air sign from July 7 to November 7! NEPTUNE Planet No. 7 in the planetary alignment Neptune is brrrrrr! Icy Neptune is the last of the gas giants in our solar system. In astrology, Neptune rules all that lies below the surface—and the watery flow of creativity. Neptune brings each sign periods of heightened imagination, creativity and intuition. Its lengthy 14-year stays in each sign allow you to plan for spiritual and creative growth and to draw from the deep well of your psyche. The current Neptune transit, Neptune in Pisces, began in 2011 and wraps up in 2026! Neptune crawled out of a lengthy retrograde at the end of 2024 and is direct in Pisces until its next retrograde, from July 4 to October 22, 2025. But here’s where things get interesting! Neptune will split its time between two signs—Aries and Pisces this year! For the first time since 1862 to 1875, the celestial soothsayer swings into the Ram’s realm. While this only lasts from March 30 to October 22, 2025, a longer, 13-year cycle of Neptune in Aries picks up again in January 2026 until March 2039! -

What's your Sun-sign? (Western Astrology)
WizardofOSS replied to WizardofOSS's topic in Witches's Astrology
I can begin.... *What is your Sun-Sign? Gemini!! We rule!! (Gemini Joke) *Google your Sun-Sign, and tell us something about it from the internet ~ From Numerologysign.com Gemini's are said to have twin, dual personalities 10 traits that often define Gemini's. They are: Outgoing People persons - Tries to get along with everyone Changeable - Seem to be a different person every time Curious about everything - Very intellectual and academic Short Attention Span - Their minds wander from topic to topis and so do their conversations! Adaptable - Because of their curiosity, they like to change a lot to new situations. Unreliable and Flaky - Their intentions are good, but the follow through isn't always the best. Erratic and can't stick to a schedule - Often bouncing from task to task Intelligent folk that love to learn - Curiosity leads to learning...everything! A little superficial - Oooohhh!! Shiny!! Talkers - Yeah, often the life of the party. *What traits do you have that you believe are spot on? Yeah, I see myself in almost all of these traits. Ooohhh...what's that!.....*Clicks on an ad promising results in 30 days* *What traits do you have that you differ? I didn't used to be so outgoing. Up until College I was very Introverted, prefering to spend hours reading a good book than actually hanging out with anyone. However, my Grandfather used a CB radio to talk to truckers passing through Kansas City, and I always admired how he struck up conversations with everyone. During college, I read books and listened to audios about how to be more out-going and it changed me. I was not naturally outgoing and now I can't reverse it. The geinie's outta the bottle! I was naturally flaky too, but I have consciously worked on this. Follow through is important, so I think I have overcome this one too. *Why do you think that is? In my case, it was pretty accurate, but self-study and improvement can change those qualities you don't like about yourself. Just look for the positive trait you desire and seek help from videos, books, or even a role model. Who's next?? -
Ever since the 2nd Century AD in Greece, Western Astrology has taken the view that we, the Earth , the moon, planets and stars are all combined in a continual dance, each movement and position affecting every other elements of the grand design. Also based of the Hermetic principle "As Above, So Below", it was widely believed that the motions of the heavens affected our lives here on Earth. For this post - *What is your Sun-Sign? *Google your Sun-Sign, and tell us something about it from the internet *What traits do you have that you believe are spot on? *What traits do you have that you differ? *Why do you think that is?

I tried taking a hand selfie, but it didn't go too well, lol. I'm currently stuck with just my phone, so I'll ask my Wife for help. But her next day off isn't until Wednesday. She's into all of this magickal stuff too, so I won't be bothering her by asking. 🤍 -

Sure! Send me a pic of your non-dominant palm face up in good light and I'll have a reading for you asap! Thanks! -
I love both oracle and tarot, but I seem to get a better understanding with oracle decks. It's not so much the tarot's fault though. I just get overwhelmed by wanting to memorize all of their meanings, but have the memory capabilites of a gold fish. My favorite oracle deck is Alice The Wonderland Oracle Deck. My cards are nice and big and actually have small explanation blurbs on them. The deck also came with an in depth book. So I really have that extra memory space restored, lol.

Excellent!! The moon is indeed a working partner! I like that! I feel much the same way! In fact, I've found that if I coordinate my spells with the phases of the moon, they become linked in a ticking countdown to completion. Let me explain.... Say....I wanna get more prosperity.... On a New Moon I would craft my spell like...."As the Moon grows in it's light, May my prosperity likewise grow in bounty!" = more prosperity On a Full Moon I would just say the reverse...same intent....."As the Moon wanes and diminishes, so too may the debt I owe others diminish!!" = more prosperity See? I love this concept! You see your spell working as the Moon grows or wanes! Belief makes the Spells work better. Thanks for sharing!!

I find that rose quartz is very nurturing and very helpful in reparenting my inner child; it has a soothing warmth like sunlight, loving and tender, comforting to the heart. I especially think a rose quartz with little rainbows inside would be a supportive stone for a little to carry with them. I'm curious to try other stones that support/encourage little energy! 💖🌸✨️

I love to have most of my rituals on full moons, especially those that are more worshipful or celebratory. In one way, I think of the moon almost like a magical working partner, I feel the more "outward" or active energy is when the moon is brightest. During the new moons I feel the dark almost creates a sort of empty vacuum, like an empty cup waiting to be filled; so I like to begin things on the new moon.. or meditate on what I am letting go(and simultaneously opening myself up to). The new moons are my time for introspection and listening versus the full moons which are when I ride the wave of energy at its peak.

Just starting a discussion here for fun. So most people worship and perform rituals for the Full Moon. However recent practices, mainly through the writings of Raven Grimassi, allude to the power of the New Moon as well and that working with the Dark, embracing and understanding it, balances your energies and can be a source of magick as well. I was always taught that Full Moon was good for spellcrafting and worship, while the New Moon was more for intellectual learning, training and teaching of aspiring witches and veterans alike. In practice, I always attended Lunar gatherings on the Full Moon (or closest to) and we had Wicca 101 classes or workshops on the New Moon. What are your opinions or practices? Discuss please?

😯Wow! In all the times I've been at lunars, I've never heard that response! I think that's an excellent reaction to have and very natural when the energy is electric! My skin usually crawls and my hairs rise. You really have a connection to the beauty and power of a full Moon!! I think that's awesome!! Don't change!

About me: I'm a practicing Wizard, knowledgeable and practiced in many forms of Magick, both High and Low. I hang out at a nearby "Church of Nature" called Oak Spirit Sanctuary with pagans, heathens, witches, eclectics and other curious magickal folk. I identify as Pantheist. I have led workshops, lunars and festivals for decades. Magick can be fun, empowering and therapeutic psychologically! I practiced Palmistry years ago in person and at Festivals and I really enjoyed it. I propose trying to read your hand on here for free. Understand that usually I grab your hand and feel the plains and mounds, the coarseness of the skin, and such, so please forgive me if this will be a little inaccurate, but as I said, it'll just be for fun. I'll text as much flavor as I can based on the picture. Post a picture here of your Non-Dominant Palm, face up in good light and I'll try to give you a reading, ok? Give me a day or two, as I can't check these forums everyday. so...lend me a hand... LOL!!

Hmm...I've been around the forums, but missed this club somehow. Glad to be here. Forgive me, I would have joined this sooner! Since this is the most recent post, I'll start my discussions here. I haven't done the online ones, but I have done them in person years ago. which gives me an idea for a new topic, just for fun. Anyways, which online ones were you thinking of? I could check them out and give an opinion later. Thanks!

I got given a tigers eye necklace as a child by my grandmother. I've always been sensitive to energies so she gave it to me for protection. Since then I've always loved it. (Cos it reminds me of the connection I have with her) I love alot of stones, things like jade.. that one is good for luck and healing. I usually just go by feeling tho. Like what speaks to me. I have an Amber tree, and a few others tucked away. Selenite has always been a favourite of mine and I once tried to make moon water with selenite... Urm. Yeah. Lucky I researched first before using it. 🤣🤣
-
I recently bought my new deck but I haven't used it yet.. I've only ever used an angel deck my best friend gave me at 16. Prefer tarot but getting into oracle cards. I have the moonology oracle cards. My fav spread is the Celtic cross.. if anyone wants a reading, I'd be happy to practice with you. 😅
